Weekend Wrap-up

It was the Thanksgiving weekend here in the US, a four day long weekend. My sister and her fiance were visiting us and we had big plans for the weekend.  There was lots of yummy food, loads & loads of shopping, and yes, the best part- the weekend art project.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Adding motifs on the wall

I'm quite pleased with my turmeric yellow wall and the motif wall art. What do you think? I'm still contemplating adding a couple more on the right side of the wall. Any suggestions???

Swiss memories

My husband and I love travelling. However, our holiday in Switzerland has been the most memorable one so far. We reminisce about it every now and then. It was an impromptu decision, to take a 6 day trip to the swiss alps, while on our way to India. What made it so exciting was that it was a spontaneous idea, one that wasn't planned much ahead of time. We researched and planned everything using tripadvisor (a great travel resourse). For most part of our trip we stayed in a family owned hotel in the village of Wengen, and got a taste of the swiss hospitality which is worth experiencing. Here are some pictures of the gorgeous views that I tried to capture - the sun shining on the snow capped peaks, streams and waterfalls running through the mountains, wooden houses with thier flowers filled window boxes, serene lakes with blue-green water and the beautiful churches. I must admit that the photos do not do justice to the stunning beauty of this picturesque country.

A special time of the year...Diwali

What better way to start my blog than to share my diwali moments...
Diwali has always been a very special time of the year for me, ever since I was child. I have beautiful memories of the festival and I want it to be as special every year for my family.
Here are some pictures of the Diwali we had this year...

This idea was inspired by a post on Prachi's blog Purplehomes

It looked beautiful, and I got so many compliments on this one. Thankyou Prachi!

A new Beginning

I'm not new to the world of blogs...It was my very close friend Sharkara (Visit her blog here), who introduced me to the world of design blogs about six months back..and I have been completely hooked ever since. Every day, I would spend all the free time I'd get, just reading through my favorite blogs and hopping from one to the other. It has been so inspiring that not long ago, I thought to myself, maybe I should start a blog of my own, a place to pen down my ideas, share my passions and so here I am...sharing my thoughts on all things beautiful to me.
Hope you all enjoy visiting my blog!
