While I'm working on something interesting to share......

Here's a picture of a room that I pinned on my Pinterest board today. The colors are my favorite, I love the rug, the pillows, the table, the succulents...just about everything about it.

What do you think?

My own living room has gone through a lot of changes in the past year and I'm working on sharing some pictures of it with you. There's still a lot to be done, but I think its in a good shape now.
I like looking at it and I hope you will too.....:)
Stay tuned!

HELLO....!

Hello!
How are you doing?

I've been gone for a long, long time.
However, I have had enough to keep me inspired.....
....been busy getting inspiration, Pinning, and browsing Houzz.
I came across this beautifully decorated New York loft and I just felt like sharing it with you all....

The style feels like it mirrors mine in so many way. The entire look is eclectic...with ethnic elements added all over. I'm loving the Chakki style coffee table, the low chair and the Ikat floor cushions. The bright pillows make the place all the more inviting:)

The hunt is on....

....for two pallets...ideas anyone???

I'm eyeing this gorgeous table that I saw on pinterest and it looks simple enough to make, plus I have been wanting to CREATE a piece of furniture myself since the longest time...

I plan to use it in my newly paved patio....on those lovely sunny afternoons of cool winter days...... when I bask in my swing with some snack and a glass of fresh OJ.

How does that sound to you...? Tempting....:)
Won't you join me?

Will keep you posted on my progress.

Tuesday Treat: Design Inspiraion from Morocco

I have always been enamored by the colors and design elements of Moroccon decor. I have tried to bring some of those elements in my home as well. The blues, the reds, the green and the gold..... all those bold and bright colors , the arches and domes that pronounce Moroccan architecture....all seem to add to the mystic charm of Moroccan themed decor.

Here's some visual insipration from the land of contrasts.....

My home office

The last few weekends, hubby and I have spent some time cleaning and organizing our home office, little by little. Few weekends, just for one room...you ask?? Yup...., that's right!
We have the luxury of a spare room that we call our home office, with two desks, a couple of bookcases and (sob..!) lots of clutter. So....for all of you who have seen my home tour here & here and wonder how my home looks nice in those pictures...let me confess, I do have my share of clutter and unruliness, all tucked away in this room. Tangled wires, a load of  unsorted mail, growing pile of paperwork, my in-progress crafts and projects; and anything else that does not find place elsewhere in our home, finds its way to this room. With all our effort, its cleaner now, but nowhere close to being called a pretty space.

Ever since we moved into our home, the office has been the most ignored room of all.....even though husband and I spend a considerable amount of time here. It is also the place from where I blog. Which brings me to the realization that before I get started on my bedroom makeover, I should do something about this room first.

Here is some inspiration that I gathered....

This is the office of Jen from Made By Girl.

I'm drawn to the dark wall and the white shelving in the above rooms....

And look at these creative ways to stay organized.....

Last but not the least, inspiring words framed up and displayed as art...

Do you like these rooms...? Which one do you like the most?
I'll soon start planning my home office makeover....will keep you all posted.

Happy Friday folks! Are you all looking forward to the weekend? I am! It's the Fathers day weekend and my friends and I have planned a get together lunch and a fun day for all the Dads (just like we celebrated Mother's day).

I'm here to share with you these striking stones crafted  by some very talented people.

Mom Cave

Have you heard of a 'Mom Cave'? Well, until very recently, I hadn't. I got to know about the concept through Houzz.
A 'mom cave' is a place that a woman can call her own, a retreat right at home, where she can just go unwind and have some 'alone time'. The idea is gaining more and more popularity in today's world. Every woman- whether a mom or not, would love such a space (I think...), a place with all the things that you love surrounding you. I totally Love the idea and I think it would be such a treat to have such a space.

I share an office with my husband. There are two desks, one for each one of us, with each of our computers, lots of papers, books, stationery......its nothing close to being pretty or anything. I do sometime envision the space to transform into something inviting and dazzling....If that ever happens, I would take inspiration from these rooms.

I want to add one more room here- only because I really like it, this amazing studio which belongs to Kamini of Saffron and Silk

I WANT one of these.....!

Earthy Urns

All around me, I see people gearing up for spring, decking their yards, sprucing up their surroundings with colorful accents. While I add some flowers and greens here and there around my home, I have a Huge craving for some earthy looking urns for to my outdoor space and the inside decor. While wandering the web, these are some that really caught my eye.

I'm totally in LOVE with these terracotta urns. I spotted these on a home tour at P&P- these beauties deck the Ananths' home in Bangalore. Aren't they gorgeous?

But who can resist these totally drool worthy bedrooms. Can you...???

I'm so loving this one below- all white with a little dash of color added by the block printed quilt and cushion.

Gift wrapping ideas

I have been exploring gift wrapping ideas over the last couple of days, as I'll be doing all the gift packing for my cousin's wedding in India. Also, its Christmas time and many of you might be busy packing your gifts and  some some of these ideas might be useful.
What really catches my fancy is the use of brown paper. The simplicity of the paper makes any decorations stand out. I especially like the combination of gold with the brown.

My favorite is the first one, embellished with gold ribbon and some fresh green leaves. The one with the cut out alphabets pasted on to the brown is my second fav. Which one is yours?

PS: Will surely share with you pictures of the final gift wraps.

PSII: In the last week or so, I came across some very unique gift wrapping ideas on the blogosphere, the one that I distinctly remember is a gift wrapped with a calendar page and the special date circled. I really tried hard to find that post, but with no luck. If any of you knows where that was, please let me know the link to that. Thanks.
