Helloooo......

Helllooooo there........how have you been....?
I know I've been MIA for a long long time....not just from my own blog, but I've been bad about visiting fellow bloggers too.... It seems like ages since I had any blogger connection.....
....and I don't feel good about it at all.

I do realize though.....the longer you go without blogging, more difficult it is to get back. I've had a few posts in my drafts folder for a while now...I meant to finish writing them and post them and everything......but God knows what went wrong........

Today seems different, just the right day to blog......
I woke up this morning and felt like talking to you all....about what my days have been like, what I have been doing during my weekends....and what I have in store.

The weather in my neck of the woods has been just perfect, .....although unusually warm for winters......highs ranging in the upper 70s (all my friends, living in the north, I don't mean to make you jealous, I do miss the winter chill sometimes).
We have been spending a lot of time outdoors, weekends are mostly made up of a trip to the park- my son plays with dad, while mum is busy clicking away, trying out her new camera (wink). The afternoons are spent lazing in part sun/ part shade out in the backyard. I do manage to sneak some time to finish some of my projects (more on that in my upcoming posts, I promise).

In other news, we finally finished painting our home office (any guesses on the color I picked...?). And now, the walls are all set for the artwork to be hung. Me...I've been conjuring up ideas for a cluster wall....let's see how that turns out.

So what's keeping you busy these days? Any thing interesting....talk to me!

Fall Love

It's that time of the year when I really, REALLY miss being in the norther part of the country. All across blog land, fellow bloggers are talking about the changing weather, the changing colors of the leaves and the beauty that surrounds them.
Living in Florida, I can only talk about it. Or, look at pictures from my past trips to places which are known for their fall splendor, ....and be happy with it. One of them being Vermont.

I visited Vermont a few years back, and it was right when the fall colors were peaking. The road trip will always be one of my most memorable ones.

We drove across the state for three days, taking halts at byways and sideroads, small streams and quaint waterfalls....almost any spot that beckoned. I collected leaves in all the colors. The yellows, the oranges and the reds were so brilliant...and the view of all these colors with the blue sky as the backrop was breathtaking.

The beauty of nature at this time is truly beyond words.

If I think about it, the fall palette is my favorite color palette....I have those colors all over my home:)

Summer blooms

Hello peeps! How have you been....? How was your weekend? I had a good one as I got lots done in terms of errands and chores, and still got some time to relax. I'm all set for a good week ahead. How about you....?

The sight of blooming flowers always makes me happy. One of many things that I love about bay area is its beautiful flowers. Every summer when I visit, there are bushes full of color everywhere and trees are loaded with fruit. While I was there, I couldn't help capturing the beauty through my camera. Here are a few clicks....

These purple flowers....., you'll see them outside every house, at the sidewalk and even in the wild. Aren't they pretty...?

White daisies....lovely!

And roses in so many colors...from what I've heard, it's very easy to grow roses here.

Have a great week!

Remembering Sanibel island

I woke up this morning thinking about the beach....maybe because we are gearing up for our upcoming beach vacation. We are headed to the Caribbean in a few days and I'm all so excited.... I like beaches for many things...I like watching and hearing the waves splash on the shore, walking in the sand barefoot, and the best part is collecting the shells....  The most spectacular sight on the beach is that of the setting sun. The changing colors in the sky always takes my breath away.......

These pictures are from a day trip to Sanibel island here in Florida, a beach known for its shells...

Do you see the shell in the sand? There are tons of these lying in the sand....you don't have to hunt for them...

The stunning views of the sun set...and the colors in the sky...

Swiss memories

My husband and I love travelling. However, our holiday in Switzerland has been the most memorable one so far. We reminisce about it every now and then. It was an impromptu decision, to take a 6 day trip to the swiss alps, while on our way to India. What made it so exciting was that it was a spontaneous idea, one that wasn't planned much ahead of time. We researched and planned everything using tripadvisor (a great travel resourse). For most part of our trip we stayed in a family owned hotel in the village of Wengen, and got a taste of the swiss hospitality which is worth experiencing. Here are some pictures of the gorgeous views that I tried to capture - the sun shining on the snow capped peaks, streams and waterfalls running through the mountains, wooden houses with thier flowers filled window boxes, serene lakes with blue-green water and the beautiful churches. I must admit that the photos do not do justice to the stunning beauty of this picturesque country.
